Greater Manchester is a truly international business and cultural hub. With Manchester International Airport less than 10 miles from Middlewood Locks, connecting your business to anywhere in the world couldn’t be easier. And with direct rail links due to be delivered as part of the Salford Central Station upgrade, it’s set to become even easier. Let your business take advantage of everything Manchester Airport has to offer:

Situated adjacent to the River Irwell, Middlewood Locks will take advantage of the recent and planned investment into improved cycle links between Manchester, the universities, and Salford Quays.
New pedestrian links will be created through the opening of the rail arches and the delivery of new bridges over the River Irwell, some of which are already underway.

Work is underway to deliver the Northern Hub, an extensive government funded programme to improve links between the major Northern Cities. At the heart of this development are significant improvements to Manchester and Salford’s rail infrastructure which are due to complete in 2017.
As part of these plans, the Ordsall Chord will create a fast, efficient connection between Salford Central Station and Manchester’s three other main rail stations.
As a result of this investment, Salford Central Station will undergo a significant improvement, adding additional 3 new platforms and enabling direct services to Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester Airport, Chester, Newcastle, York and Warrington.
Following the upgrade works, 2.2m passengers per annum are expected to use Salford Central as their primary route into Manchester and Salford. With 18 trains per hour, the station will become the primary choice when travelling into Manchester’s CBD from the major regional economic hubs.
It is estimated that this investment will lead to a net increase on GVA of £48.5 million, 85% of which will be in the local vicinity of Salford Station.
